Play Modes
When a key has multiple sounds, the play mode determines how they trigger.
Available Modes
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Simultaneous | All sounds play at once when the key is pressed |
| Sequential | Each press plays the next sound in order, cycling back to the first |
| Chain | Plays sounds one after another automatically. If a sound is set to loop, the chain pauses on that sound and resumes on the next key press |
| Random | Each press picks a random sound from the list |
Changing the Play Mode
In the Key Settings panel, use the mode selector buttons to switch between modes. The change takes effect immediately.
Chain Mode Details
Chain mode is unique — it auto-advances through your sound list:
- Press the key to start the first sound
- When it finishes, the next sound starts automatically
- If a sound has Loop enabled, the chain pauses on that sound
- Press the key again to stop the loop and advance to the next sound
- After the last sound, the chain wraps back to the beginning
This is useful for building sequences like intro → loop → outro.
Sound Order
The order of sounds in the Key Settings list determines the playback order for Sequential and Chain modes. Drag the grip handle on any sound row to reorder.
