Audio Output Devices
ezAudioDeck can route audio to different output devices on your system.
Global Default
Set the default output device in Global Settings. This applies to all sounds unless individually overridden.
Per-Sound Override
In Key Settings, each custom audio sound can be routed to a specific device. This overrides the global default for that sound only.
Note: Built-in synth sounds use the Web Audio API and always play on the system default device. Per-sound device routing is only available for custom audio files.
Streaming Setup Example
A common streaming setup routes sounds to different outputs:
- Set the global default to your stream audio device (e.g., VoiceMeeter input)
- Override specific sounds (like personal alerts) to your headphones
- Stream viewers hear the sound effects while you hear private notifications separately
Microphone Permission
The first time you use device selection, the app may ask for microphone permission. This is a browser security requirement to see device names — the microphone is never actually used or recorded. Grant the permission once and device labels become visible for the rest of the session.
