Modifier Layers
The keyboard layout supports modifier layers, similar to how Shift changes what keys type.
How It Works
- Hold Ctrl, Alt, Shift, or Win on your physical keyboard to see bindings for that modifier combination
- Click the modifier pills above the keyboard to pin a modifier layer without holding the key
- The keyboard display updates to show which keys have bindings in the current layer
Expanded Capacity
Modifier layers effectively multiply your available keys:
A— one bindingCtrl+A— a different bindingAlt+A— another bindingCtrl+Alt+A— yet another binding
Each modifier combination is a completely separate binding slot.
Pinning Modifiers
Click the Ctrl, Alt, Shift, or Win pills above the keyboard to "pin" them. This lets you browse and configure modifier layers without holding the physical keys. Click again to unpin.
Practical Example
A streamer might organize sounds by modifier:
- No modifier: Common sound effects (applause, rimshot, airhorn)
- Ctrl+key: Music clips and transitions
- Alt+key: Voice lines and quotes
- Shift+key: Ambient sounds and backgrounds
