System Tray and Auto-Start

ezAudioDeck integrates with the Windows system tray for background operation.

Minimize to Tray

When the tray icon is enabled in the project settings, minimizing the app hides it to the system tray instead of the taskbar.

Restoring from Tray

• Double-click the tray icon
• Right-click the tray icon and select "Show Window"
• Press the Minimize Hotkey (if assigned) to toggle restore

Auto-Run at Startup

Enable "Auto-Run at Startup" in Global Settings to launch ezAudioDeck when Windows starts. This adds an entry to the Windows startup registry.

Auto-Minimize

Enable "Auto-Minimize" in Global Settings to start the app minimized to the tray. Combined with Auto-Run, the app launches silently in the background when Windows starts.

Typical Background Setup

For a "set and forget" configuration:

1. Enable Hotkey Mode — so keys work globally
2. Enable Auto-Run at Startup — launches with Windows
3. Enable Auto-Minimize — starts hidden in the tray
4. Assign a Minimize Hotkey — for quick show/hide toggling

The app runs silently in the background, responding to your hotkeys without taking up screen space.
